Welk Resort Branson Announces New Summer Production:
Shrek The Musical! 

Coming to a swamp in Branson! The Welk Resort Theatre is proud to announce the all-new production of Shrek The Musical, opening June 8, 2019 and running through August 10, 2019. Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, Shrek The Musical is a Tony Award-winning fairy tale adventure, featuring all new songs from Jeanine Tesori (Thoroughly Modern Millie; Caroline, or Change) and a side-splitting book by David Lindsay-Abaire.

Shrek and all of his friends from the film will come to life on stage and bring all of the hilarious fun, daring adventure and heart-warming feeling that only an ogre, his wisecracking donkey and a cast of fairy tale misfits can bring. It’s a one-of-a-kind musical experience that the whole family will love.

“We are so proud to be able to present a fantastic new production of Shrek The Musical this summer,” says Susan Smith, General Manager of The Welk Resort. “We’ve had such a great experience presenting musical theatre in Branson for the past four years with our production of Million Dollar Quartet, that we’ve decided to introduce a musical production we feel the whole family will enjoy.
