Owners Dana and Linda Peterson pride themselves on delivering a consistently good product and numerous satisfied customers can attest to their success. Big D’s award-winning smoked meats are cooked low and slow from start to finish, starting off with a proprietary blend of spices before heading to the smoker.
Dana was semi-retired when he decided to share his passion and talents with the public by opening a food truck in late 2017. It didn’t take long for word to spread and customers were lining up for their delicious smoked meats. This early success led to the Petersons opening up their new, permanent location on Highway 248 in May of 2019.
The menu features Texas style brisket, Memphis style baby back ribs, smoked chicken, pulled pork, sausage and ½ lb. burgers made from fresh ground brisket. For a special treat ask about Big D’s daily, off-menu specials.
Preferring to let the smoky flavors stand out, Big D’s doesn’t cover their meats under layers of sauce and as Big D himself says, “If you’re saucin’ you’re hidin’.” But, you’ll find a delicious variety of sauces available so you can make it a saucy as you like. Choose from four different sauces including the Kansas City style Lil Sweetie, the spicier Big & Bold, a mustard based Carolina sauce and an Alabama white sauce that pairs perfectly with the smoked chicken.
Big D’s sides are just as tasty as the main dish! Choose from pit beans with tender pieces of smoked pulled pork, coleslaw, fried okra, homemade chips or smoked mac & cheese.
